Terms & Conditions

Last updated 14 June 2026.

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern the supply of web design, development and website-care services by ISKO Studio ("ISKO Studio", "I", "me", "my") to you, the client ("you", "your"). By paying a deposit or instructing me to begin work, you agree to these Terms. Where a separate written proposal or quote conflicts with these Terms, the proposal takes precedence for that project.

1. Definitions

  • Project — the one-off design and build of a website as set out in your quote.
  • Care plan — the optional ongoing monthly service covering hosting, maintenance and support.
  • Deliverables — the website and any files or assets agreed in the quote.
  • Content — text, images, logos, videos and other materials you provide for use on your website.

2. Quotes & agreement

I'll provide a written quote setting out the scope, price and what's included. Quotes are valid for 30 days. A project is confirmed, and these Terms take effect, once you've accepted the quote in writing (email is fine) and paid the deposit. Prices shown as "from" on my website are starting points; your final price is the one stated in your quote.

3. Fees & payment

  • Deposit — a 50% deposit of the project fee is payable before work begins. This deposit is non-refundable once work has started, as it reserves my time.
  • Balance — the remaining 50% is due on completion, before the site is made live or final files are transferred to you.
  • Care plan — care-plan fees are billed monthly in advance, by recurring payment or invoice as agreed.
  • Invoices — payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date unless stated otherwise.
  • Late payment — I reserve the right to pause work, or to suspend a live site, where an invoice is more than 14 days overdue, until payment is received. I may charge statutory interest on overdue sums under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
  • Third-party costs — domain names, premium plugins, stock imagery, paid fonts and similar third-party costs are not included in my fee unless stated, and are either billed to you or paid by you directly.

4. Your responsibilities

To keep your project on track, you agree to:

  • provide all Content in a usable format by the agreed dates;
  • give timely feedback and approvals;
  • ensure you own, or have permission to use, all Content you supply;
  • provide accurate business information and a named point of contact.

If you delay in providing Content, feedback or payment, the timeline may move accordingly. If a project stalls on your side for more than 60 days, I may treat it as complete at its current stage and invoice the balance.

5. Content & copyright

You confirm that any Content you provide does not infringe anyone else's rights and is not unlawful. You agree to indemnify me against any claim arising from Content you supply. I'll treat your Content as confidential and use it only to deliver your project.

6. Revisions & scope

Each project includes up to two rounds of revisions within the agreed scope. Additional revisions, new pages, or changes beyond the original brief ("scope creep") will be quoted and agreed separately before I carry them out.

7. Timelines

I'll give an estimated timeline for each project. Estimates are made in good faith but are not guarantees, as delivery depends on timely Content, feedback and payment from you, and on third-party services outside my control.

8. Intellectual property

Once I have received payment in full:

  • you own the final website design and the Content you provided;
  • you receive a licence to use any third-party assets (fonts, plugins, stock imagery) subject to their own licence terms;
  • I retain ownership of any underlying tools, code libraries, or techniques I reuse across projects.

Until full payment is received, all Deliverables remain my property. I may display the completed work in my portfolio and marketing unless you ask me, in writing, not to.

9. Care plan

The monthly care plan covers hosting, security monitoring, backups, software updates and minor content edits (up to approximately one hour per month, not carried over). It does not cover new pages, redesigns, new features, or large content changes — these are quoted separately. The care plan runs month to month and either of us may cancel it with 30 days' written notice. If you cancel the care plan, you're responsible for arranging your own hosting and maintenance, and I'll help you migrate where reasonably possible.

10. Hosting & third-party services

Websites I build may rely on third-party services (such as hosting platforms, form providers and booking tools). I'm not responsible for outages, changes or failures of those services, though I'll act reasonably to help resolve issues for care-plan clients.

11. Cancellation

You may cancel a project at any time in writing. The deposit is non-refundable, and you'll be invoiced for any work completed beyond the deposit up to the cancellation date. I may cancel a project if you breach these Terms (for example, non-payment or supplying unlawful Content), in which case work completed to date remains payable.

12. Liability

I take care with my work, but to the extent permitted by law my total liability for any project is limited to the fees you've paid me for that project. I'm not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost revenue or lost business, arising from website downtime, errors, or third-party service failures. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

13. Warranties

I'll fix genuine faults in my own work (bugs in what I built) free of charge for 30 days after launch. This does not cover issues caused by you editing the site, by third-party services, or by changes you ask for after launch.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

15. Changes to these Terms

I may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force for your project is the one published, or sent to you, at the time your quote was accepted.
